Simply slide both discs onto your Trow & Holden 1in or 1-1/8in hand tool. The smaller disc goes on first to keep the Hand Shield from sliding down and to prevent pinching. The removable lanyard attaches to your wrist so your hand tool will not hit the ground if accidentally dropped.
